The article contains a review about the encyclopedic dictionary “Islam in Tatarstan”. This is the seventh volume in the series “Islam in the Russian Federation”. It details the history and current state of the Muslim community in the region and Muslim institutions in the territory of the modern Republic of Tatarstan. The dictionary gives a holistic picture of more than a thousand years of the development of Muslim civilization in the region both in the era of independent Turkic Muslim States and in Russia (USSR). The dictionary contains unique information about the development of Muslim statehood, social and political movements, Muslim institutions, classical theological and historical literature, the press. The history of Islam in the region is revealed through the biographies of Muslim leaders, the history of madrasas and mosques. The unique information allows the reader to gain a comprehensive understanding of the history of the Muslim community of Tatarstan, as well as to obtain information about the current state of the Muslim community of Tatarstan.
