The concept of the Situation Centre for Monitoring Global and Regional Security of KFU is guided by the goal of creating a multifunctional innovation platform that allows leveraging information and communication technologies for solving a wide range of organizational and managerial, educational, scientific, political and information-analytical problems.

The Situation Centre for Monitoring Global and Regional Security would thus serve to unlock the huge potential of modern technologies, ensuring guaranteed access to various information sources and databases; establishing a stable system of communication of various levels; creating new development opportunities for practically all spheres of activity of IIRHOS of KFU and other divisions.

The ideology of the Situation Center is based on the combination of traditional and innovative methodological techniques and the possibilities of their continuous development as an important system for dealing with new tasks arising in the process of education modernization, scientific research, expansion of analytical and information activities, inclusion into media space. The mini printing shop as a part of the Situation Center makes it possible to manufacture and distribute educational, scientific and analytical products both electronic and paper.

Discussion of the drafts of new normative documents, concepts, maps, etc.

Holding videoconference briefing with the participation of managers, consultants, experts.

Drawing up minutes of the meetings, including video and audio recording by multiple sources.

Organising classes with the use of multimedia equipment (presentations, video lectures, teleconsultations, videoconferencing, etc.).

Implementation of situational modelling and virtual voting.

Organization of distance learning.

Educational use of various databases to build teaching and research works (reports, analytical reviews).

Use of special databases of electronic libraries (including those integrated with the centralized library system of KFU), media archives, and while writing a course paper and graduation qualification work.

Providing an empirical basis for research by collecting materials from a wide range of specialized databases, electronic libraries and archives, as well as geoinformation systems and archives of specialized periodicals, electronic media.

Organization of scientific mini-conferences and seminars, including the ones with simultaneous translation.

Drawing up minutes of the conferences, including video and audio recording, as well as digitalizing texts.

Implementation of open (and close) sessions of situational modelling with possible conferencing and recording.
