Program description:

The master program “Petrochemistry and catalysis” is aimed to develop professionals in the fields of catalysis in petrochemistry, oil processing, and organic synthesis. Students get fundamental knowledge in chemistry, homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis, modern catalytic processes of the hydrocarbon processing, organic and petrochemical synthesis applied by petrochemical plants of the Russian Federation. The focus of the course is on physicochemical principles of the applied catalytic technologies, application of catalysis in petrochemistry, modern methods of selection and analysis of catalysts, catalytic activity prediction, ability to innovate and develop breakthrough technologies for tomorrow.

Main courses

Practical and laboratory courses are held in the laboratories of the “Petrochemistry and catalysis” scientific and educational center as well as catalysis and absorption laboratories, using modern scientific instruments and equipment.

Program advantages

Career prospects

Graduates can apply for researcher positions in the universities and institutes of Russian Academy of sciences and Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan, in the research laboratories of state-owned and private companies in the field of catalysis, petrochemistry, oil processing and refinement, organic synthesis. Graduates may work on the production facilities in the chemical industry, in the fields of petrochemistry, oil processing and refinement, organic and inorganic synthesis, and other industries in which catalytic processes are employed (e.g., “Nizhnekamskneftekhim,” “Kazanorgsynthesis.” “Tatneft,” “NK Rosneft” etc.).
