Abstract

The world has changed considerably after the latest technological revolutions, such the genomic and fourth industrial ones. This has been paralleled by an increasing awareness of the importance of transformations in the sphere of higher education. The ongoing changes, as well as the conditions for further development and the specific tasks faced by the Kazan Federal University are discussed in the brief communication. Special attention has been paid to the major trends in the development of today's medicine, translational medicine in particular.
