Research Areas:

The main research area of the Department is “Monitoring, analysis and modeling of changes in global and regional climate, circulation and energy conditions in the atmosphere” (Supervisor: Prof. Yuri Perevedentsev). Within this area, the research is carried out in the following fields:

• Global and regional changes in modern climate
• Climatic conditions and resources of the subjects of the Russian Federation
• Circulation and energy of the atmosphere
• Climate and state of the air basin of Kazan and Tatarstan

The Department links its future with the strengthening of the measuring base of the Observatory, use of modeling techniques in the study of atmospheric processes, climate and the environment, as well as the development of multi-level training in the field of “Hydrometeorology” through the use of advanced information and learning technology.
