The article presents a review of the book “For Freedom and Equality. Memoirs, Publicism, and Interviews” written by the famous social and political figure and publicist F.Safiullin. As a genre, it is a collection of memoirs, publicistic articles and interviews, which present an idea of the contemporary history of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan. The paper is addressed to experts and a wide range of readers interested in the period and the problems in the area of federal and international relations in the Russian Federation.
