The article deals with the methodological problems of historical and anthropological studies. The study of pre-revolutionary Tatar history from the perspective of “a little man”, his everyday private life and individual personality traits is difficult because of the lack of sources available. One way to solve the problem is to expand the scientific spectrum of historical sources by attracting Tatar folklore and literary works, thus developing an interdisciplinary approach to studies. A brief overview of the history of Tatar folklore and literature studies shows that most of today’s research papers are limited by their highly specialized framework. In the interdisciplinary study of Tatar everyday life in the 19- 20th centuries presented, the author demonstrates a historical potential of the folklore and literary heritage of the Tatar people, the possibility of a dialogue between a literary text and historical context. The article presents a socio-cultural analysis proverbs and bayts used by Tatar authors to represent everyday life, as well as source study of works of popular Tatar writers – participants of historic processes at the beginning of 20th century (G.Iskhaki, F.Amirhan, G.Ibragimov). The author also demonstrates how biographies of different writers are used in their literary texts.

Key words: Tatar literature, Tatar folklore, history of everyday life, source, historical anthropology, Gyaz İskhaki, Fatih Amirhan, Galimdzhan Ibragimov.
