The paper analyzes phonetic phenomena of Tatar speakers residing in different areas. Linguists have been greatly interested in the linguistic features of Turkic languages of speakers residing in different areas. The works of G.Blagova, M.Borodina, N.Garzhieva, A.Dzhuraev, B.Serebrennikov, and F.Yusupov defined the subject and research areas. Although, linguistic features of numerous Turkic peoples spread out across large territories have been thoroughly studied, phonetic phenomena of Tatar speakers, residing in different areas are under-researched. Areal linguistics approach enables to systemize common and different features of Turkic languages and reconstruct a model for each separate language. It also gives new perspectives to dialectal and regional languages studies.
