Head of Division – Sabirova Diana Rustamovna.

Our Mission:

From the first days of the Department formation, the basic aim has been to introduce the traditions of the classical liberal education; to form student groups with a well-developed educational route; to draw the students' attention to research work in the scientific trends of high priority; to promote the expansion of students' ideas and knowledge about their future profession of interpreter, translator, archaeologist, cultural studies scholar, museologist, anthropologist, specialist in tourism; to acquaint them with the culture and arts of the countries of the studied languages based on the interdisciplinary and integration principles, which is a specific marker of the Department of Translation Studies and World Cultural Heritage.

Our Goals:

The projects realized at the Department contribute not only to the formation of students' tolerance and mutual understanding, but also to the extensive development of intercultural dialogue aimed at the formation and preservation of the universal values for the current generation and future ones, which are able to effectively solve the problems facing them, on the national and global scale. The target emphasis is made on the background assumption: «Be the one to be judged on to form an opinion about your nation”.

The advantage of the Department gives a splendid opportunity to generalize the specificity of life and functioning of the foreign languages in different Humanities and the life of the Humanities in different languages. A rich mosaic of languages is constantly renewed due to the expansion of the language usage in the holding of educational and scientific events in all the majors of training. For instance, while working as interpreters and translators of the invited international specialists in such spheres as Archaeology, Culture Studies, Museology, Anthropology, Ethnology, etc., the intending translators have an opportunity to enrich not only their own linguistic study, but also the special fields, helping them to organize the corresponding lexical ad terminological spheres of knowledge.

We understand that a university specialist is a widely educated person. Consequently, a foreign language command of such specialist is an instrument of production, part of culture, and a means of humanitarization of education. All that presupposes a fundamental and many-sided training in language and culture, because languages are to be studied in a continuous unity with the world and culture of the native speakers of these languages.

The structure and activity of the Department of Translation Studies and World Cultural Heritage is formed in accordance with our aims and goals. It is very interesting to study at all the majors, a demand for the knowledge of languages, cultures and life of corresponding nations and regions, history and ethnography, economics and politics, their traditions, values, household, customs and religion is huge in the modern society.

The brand of the Institute of International Relations, History and Oriental Studies speaks for itself. We give an education which is of high quality, and able to meet competition in this sphere and we have the best students who we are proud of.

We realize that the future of the country and the humanity depends on what specialists we are training today, taking into account the success of the recent yesterday.
