Scanning laser confocal microscope LSM 780 (Carl Zeiss) has unique characteristics of sensitivity and resolution. 32-channel GaAsP spectral detector has quantum efficiency, signal to noise ratio is almost two times higher than conventional detectors. Such outstanding characteristics obtained through the use of gallium-arsenide-Phosphorus - semiconductor material with ideal characteristics for converting photons to an electrical signal. Because of this sensitivity, you can get less exposure time on the sample and lower laser power, which is a key advantage in the study of living cells.
Scanning laser confocal microscope LSM 780
Thanks to an innovative system of detection, it is possible to carry out fluorescence correlation spectroscopy and counting photons without any additional external sensors. As part of the LSM 780 is available unique UV laser with a wavelength of 355 nm for photo manipulation.
2,5D mode
This mode allows you to display a two-dimensional distribution of the intensity of the image in pseudo-3D mode and shows light intensity values in the profile.
Function Split.
Split function allows displaying individual channels in a multi-channel image.
Function Co-localization
Co-localization feature allows performing interactive analysis of two scanning channels and creating a chart of dispersion (co-localization).

Profile Mode allows you to display the image light intensity distribution in a straight line or curve showing the intensity values in a table and show individual profiles for each channel in the multi-channel image.

This innovative system gives the opportunity to obtain high-quality results in various fields of science in a really short time.
Using this system we can take AFM images on the rates higher than 125Hz which lets us to choose the scanning area as fast and as accurate as never before.
