There are plenty of impressive sights in the historical center of Kazan: the Kremlin of the 10th century, the Millenium bridge, the Kul-Sharif mosque and other beautiful cathedrals and mosques. Kazan has unique museums, able to suit any taste: the Fine Arts Museum, the Museum of Leo Tolstoy, the National Museum of Tatarstan, the Museum of Zoology etc.
An excursion on the Old-Tatar settlement is an excellent opportunity to see Kazan in the style of the 18th/19th centuries. You can visit the museum of the Tatar poet Gabdulla Tukay, a Museum of the Kayum Nasyri.
The Kazan Kremlin, a unique complex of archeological, historical and architectural monuments enrolled into the UNESCO World Heritage list, is the main tourist attraction of Kazan. It is open for visits and tours on a daily basis. Tourists visiting the territory of the architectural conservation area will see such places of interest as the 'falling' Syuyumbike Tower, Savior Tower, Annunciation Cathedral and Kul-Sharif, one of the largest mosques in the world. There are more sites of interest to visit: the Center "Hermitage-Kazan", the Natural History Museum of Tatarstan, the Museum of the Gun Court, the Museum of Islamic culture, and the Museum of the History of statehood of the Tatar people and Exhibition Hall "Manege" in the Kazan Kremlin.
Participants of the Kazan Summer School 2016 can visit the museum complex in Kazan Kremlin with a guide, the Museum of History of Kazan Federal University and the Stuсkenberg Geology Museum. Excursions will be free.
