Mathematical Cybernetics at Kazan University

Mathematical cybernetics as a discipline of mathematical sciences began to develop at the Kazan University since the 1950s. The origins of these studies were Kazan mathematicians Bukharaev Rais Gatic (1929-2009), Zabotin Yaroslav Ivanovich (1930-2012), Suldin Albert Valentinovich (1924-1996).

The Department of Theoretical Cybernetics was founded in 1970 by Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Prof. Bukharaev Rais Gatic, founder of the school of automata theory, a well-known branch of mathematical cybernetics.

Quantum Informatics and Cryptography

In the last decade, one of the main areas of research at the department is quantum computer science. Quantum informatics is an interdisciplinary field located at the junction of quantum mechanics, classical information theory, and also theories of computation and complexity. Our research team was formed on the theory of automata and computational theories and conducts research in the field of quantum computation and quantum cryptography.

Training Courses

Employees of the department traditionally conduct lecture courses, seminars and practical exercises in the field of programming and databases, discrete mathematics, theory of computation, methods of calculation and in the field of information security.

Computer science club

In 2014, on the basis of the CPC, the Tatarstan branch of the Computer Science of the Club was organized in the KFU. Computer Science Club (http://kzn.compsciclub.ru, https://vk.com/kazancsclub) is an open non-profit educational community. Thematic section: Mathematical Institute of RAS, 2007.

The goal of the club is to popularize and provide opportunities for talented young people to listen to lecture courses in new, promising areas of modern IT implementation and the latest theoretical achievements in the construction and analysis of algorithms that are inaccessible to most students and students in the framework of standard curricula. To cancel additionally, that information technologies and the sphere of their applications are developing so rapidly that standard university, and even more so, school programs simply (physically) do not have time to adapt to the realities of the present.

Within the club courses, seminars and trainings are taught, covering the most relevant areas of the IT industry, the industry and actively working Russian and international specialists.

Partners

The School of Mathematical Cybernetics KFU traditionally maintains close cooperation with leading schools in mathematical cybernetics and discrete mathematics in Russia and abroad:
Traditionally close contacts with the school of Theor. cyb. and disc. mat of the Moscow State University (with Departments of Mathematics and Mathematics and Mathematics and Cybernetics). Since the 70s Joint seminars, school organizations, conferences of the series "Problems of Theor. Kib."
Traditionally close contacts with the school of Theor. cyb. and disc. Matte with the Institute of Mathematics of the RAS Novosibirsk. Close interaction with the fight, working in the region. The theory of computational complexity with Mat. Institute of RAS Moscow (joint seminars) since the 90s.
In the last decade, fruitful interaction with the group of discrete mathematics of Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology was established (a constant invitation of MIPT staff to read mini courses on modern computers sceince within the framework of the Russian Computer Science of the club.
Close interaction with Mat. Institute of RAS St. Petersburg (joint seminars), joint work on the Russian Computers Science Club.
Traditional interaction (from Soviet times) with the University of Latvia is supported. Joint working meetings, seminars are held, postdoks are exchanged.
Good fruitful cooperation with the Computer Science group of the University of Bonn (Prof. Marek Karpinsky) since the 90s. in 2003-2005 the joint leadership diss. (Ablaev, Karpinsky) Khasyanov was defended by the Candidate of Psychological Sciences at Bonn University.
Good fruitful cooperation with Computer Sciences united Turku (Finland). A whole series of mutual seminars and joint work in the last decade 2007, 2010, 2015

Employment

Graduates work in organizations and firms specializing in software development at large industrial enterprises of the Republic of Tatarstan, in insurance companies and banks (Tatneft, Microsoft, Oracle, GDC (ICL Services), BARS Group, Ak Bars Bank, University of Innopolis and others).
