A special part of "Science" Section displays the development of physics.

In the XIX century the level of physical researches was not high. According to the Decree of 1804 there was one Department of Physics and Physical Geography. There are portraits and works by A.Ya.Kupfer (future academician), who marked the beginning of geo-magnetic researches, R.A.Kolli and his follower N.P.Slughinov, continued researches on electricity, D.A.Goldhammer, whose main works are dedicated to meteorology and electro-magnetic theory of light. There are devices of the XIX century from Physics Study of the University.

Rapid progress in Physics of the XX century is connected with the greatest invention by Yevgeny K. Zavoisky in 1844. His persistent experiments resulted in discovery of the phenomenon of electronic paramagnetic resonance (EPR).

Among the most interesting exhibits of the section are Ye.K.Zavoisky's student's membership-card and record-book, a reference by Professor V. Ulyanin for his post-graduate studies, photos of Yevgeny Konstantinovich as a student, a post-graduate and a Professor of KSU later on.

The Dubois Magnet is also of great interest. There is the main part of the device, which was used to discover an unknown phenomenon, first articles, published in Uchyonye Zapiski of KSU (Academic Transactions, hand-written report by Ye. K. Zavoisky about the work in the Institute of Physics Phenomena in January 1945, where he made his experiment once again by request of P.L.Kapitsa, the Director of Institute.

More than thirty years academician A.I.Shalnikov kept this report. P.L.Kapitsa gave another valuable present to museum, a model of EPR device, made by Ye.K.Zavoisky and gifted to the academician on occasion of his 80th jubilee.
