Guidelines for writing References

The manus­cript should meet the following requirements.

• Use MS Word for manus­cript preparation.
• The following font should be applied to the manus­cript body: Times New Roman (font size - 11 pt, line space - 1.05 pt).
• Left margin - 4 cm, space before - 3.4 cm, right margin - 3.7 cm, space after - 4.5 cm, space before the header - 2.3 cm, space after the footer - 3.4 cm.
• Avoid using divisible gaps, soft hyphens and right-side alignment.
• Emphasizing should be done with the help of italics and bold type. Spacing, capital letters or underlining are not recommended for this purpose.
• Equations, tables, and figures should be numbered by Arabic numerals.
• Latin names should be typed in italics and lowercase letters.
• Additional information should be arranged in the form footnotes and placed at the bottom of the page. Footnote numbering starts from 1 on each page.
• The heading of the article should include indented:
  1. Universal Decimal Classification (UDC) number flush left;
  2. the title of the article in bold type, capital letters, aligned center (consisting of no more than 12 words);
  3. authors' initials and second names in italics, aligned center.
• Section headings (Introduction, Problem Setting, Results, etc.) should be in bold type, indented, and aligned center. Multilevel numbering should be used: 1. - for the first level, 1.1. - for the second level, 1.1.1. - for the third level, and so on. Font size for the section headings is 11 pt.
• References should be given in square brackets in the text (e.g., [1]); if there is more than one reference, then [1, 3-8]; if page interval should be specified, then it is [1, p. 254-256].
• The list of references (References) should appear at the end of the article and should be arranged according to the sequence of citations in the text (where the number of the reference is given in square brackets). Citations of unpublished materials are not allowed. Bibliographic des­cription must include the title of article or book and all authors. City, publisher, year of publishing, and total number of pages should be given for books. Journal's title, publication date, volume and issue numbers, beginning and end pages, and doi (if available) should be given for articles. In case of indirect citations, "see" should be placed before the respective source (cited indirectly). References to electronic resources should include the authors (if available), title and year of the publication, and the access mode. The list of references should contain only those sources which are referred to in the text. Detailed instruction for writing References can be found here. Examples:

• Dear authors! Please note that articles published in Uchenye Zapiski Kazanskogo Universiteta. Seriya Estestvennye Nauki should be cited as follows:
  1. Bakhtin A.I., Kolchugin A.N. Geochemical Features of Carbonate Sedimentation. Uchenye Zapiski Kazanskogo Universiteta. Seriya Estestvennye Nauki, 2011, vol. 153, no. 4, pp. 174-182. (In Russian)
• Equations in the text should be typed using the MathType Equation editor, the body font size is 11 pt. The numbers of equations are given in parentheses flush right.
• Tables (Table X) should be accompanied by captions placed above the tables; the space before the caption is 12 pt, after - 6 pt. Figures (Fig. X) (graphs, photos, etc.) should be accompanied by captions placed under the figures with a space before the caption of 6 pt, and after - 12 pt. Separate parts of tables, figures, and graphs should be marked by small letters a), b), etc.
• Figures in wmf, emf, eps vector formats or bmp and jpeg raster formats should have a resolution of no less than 600 dpi.
• The complete information about the authors including their full names, academic degrees, academic status, affiliation, address of the organization, position, contact phones and e-mails should be given on a separate page.
• Summary in the Russian and English languages should be presented as a separate page. It includes title, full names of authors, main body of Summary, and keywords (up to 10 word combinations). The guidelines for writing Summary can be found here.
