Participation in the social life of the Institute and the University holds a significant place in students’ activity in the Institute of International Relations, History and Oriental Studies. This is not surprising because there are great opportunities – during the academic year, our Institute runs regular campaigns that have already become a good tradition. For example, Tasty Vitamin Campaign. Every year, on chilly October days, all the students, faculty members and guests of our Institute can boost their immune systems while enjoying fruits, ascorbic acid, hot tea and juice. The campaign also aims to collect money for charity. In 2014, in order to attract more attention to social work, we held a contest for the best poster of the campaign. The winner received a Kazan University hoodie!

Since 2013, in early winter, the students of our Institute have been taking part in a donor initiative to help those who really need it. Today we have a long list of the donors of our Institute, and we are also planning to attract the faculty members of the Institute of International Relations, History and Oriental Studies to this initiative.

The students’ charitable organization “Homelike” started in our Institute several years ago with the idea to visit Kazan children’s homes and the Boarding School for Blind and Partially Sighted Children of Laishevo town.

The students of the Institute of International Relations, History and Oriental Studies are also actively involved in the events held at our University organized by the Volunteer Centre of KFU “Planet of the Big-Hearted People”. The objective of the Centre is to help some pensioners of Kazan to do house cleaning. There are also such campaigns as the donor initiative “Start the Spring with Kindness”, “Summer Lightning” which is a cognitive and entertaining quest for the children from Kazan children’s homes, training programmes “Volunteer’s School” for prospective volunteers and social organizers, etc.
