The main scientific directions of the research laboratory are:

Problems of educational influence on the collective identity, inclusion of students in group activities and relationships, organizational and pedagogical aspects of the student's team, as well as the student government organization, position of the person in the team structure. System analysis of the ratio of the socialization process in the new conditions of humanization and democratization of the modern school; the ratio of substantial changes in social relations and qualitative uniqueness of the individual student, mutual socializing functions of society and individual human manifestations; dialectic of development and education of students in a radically changing socio-economic and political situation of modern Russian society.

Laboratory activities is aimed at the implementation of the following tasks:

• Performance of the research work program and other scientific programs of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, regional scientific programs, international research programs;
• The development of scientific research in the structural unit;
• The establishment of scientific contacts and scientific-technical cooperation with educational and scientific institutions of Russia, CIS and foreign countries;
• Practical testing and implementation of the results into the practices of businesses, organizations and institutions of various forms of ownership and spheres of activity;
• Contribute to the preparation of students in the directions of the Institute (the faculty);
• Assist in the professional development of scientific and pedagogical staff;
• The introduction of the received results in the learning process in areas of training students;
• The communion of talented students enrolled in the respective specialties, for scientific research in the early stages of training.

In accordance with the objectives of the Nile entrusted with the following functions:

• conducting state budgetary research work (hereinafter - R & D) in accordance with the approved plans for the implementation of scientific research in the CFI;
• conducting research on the basis of grants from a variety of domestic and foreign foundations and organizations;
• conducting research on the basis of economic agreements and contracts;
• providing scientific and methodical, consulting, expert and other kinds of services in accordance with the main research areas and laboratory operation tasks for enterprises and organizations of various forms of ownership and spheres of activity, as well as for certain individuals;
• conduct scientific seminars on relevant scientific fields;
• facilitate the preparation of higher education specialists at all levels (stages) (Bachelor's, specialty, MA) on a number of related specialties and areas;
• facilitate the organization of research work of students in the course of performance of student qualification works;
• promotion of training of higher scientific qualification through post-graduate studies, and other forms of post-graduate programms.
