The increased attention to biology and interdisciplinary research is a global trend in modern medicine. Thus, they are given much attention by classical universities where biomedicine plays a dominant role in the development of a wide range of disciplines. An important milestone in the development of KFU was the transformation of Biology and Soil Faculty into the Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology and the opening of new educational programs.
