The article is devoted to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding Tatar composer Farid Yarullin. It explores the role of the composer in the development of Tatar music, defines the features of his style and gives a summary of the composer's biography. We consider the communicative potential of the ballet ‘Shurale’ in the context of the main artistic trends in the middle of the twentieth century. The article tells the story of the staging of the ballet ‘Shurale’1.
