KFU at QS-APPLE Higher Education Conference & Exhibition

On November, 11 was opened the 10th Anniversary International QS-APPLE Higher Education Conference & Exhibition that took place in Taipei (Taiwan).

This event has gathered administration of universities and higher education experts from Asia, Africa, Europe, America, and Australia for ten years. Thus, over 600 delegates from 282 universities of 48 countries visited QS-APPLE in 2013, where Russia was represented by Moscow State Technical University, Moscow Engineering and Physics Institute, Moscow State Institute of International Relations, Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, South Ural State University, Ural Federal University, and Far Eastern Federal University. This year Kazan Federal University participated in the event for the first time.

Three-day conference programme included plenary and parallel sessions covering specific aspects of international higher education: internationalization, market trends, international partnership, exchange programmes, double degrees. Besides, there were held ceremonies of QS Stars awards in four different categories: the best advertisement in the conference leaflet; the best corporate video; the best leaflet for recruiting international students; and the best web-site.

High priority was placed on the exhibition within the frame of QS-APPLE which is a meeting place of leading universities and experts.

Kazan Federal University was represented by Marat Safiullin, Vice-Rector for Economic and Strategic Development, Leyla Mukhtarova, Director of Press Service and Department of Information, Dmitry Tayursky, Deputy Director of Institute of Physics for Education, and Airat Khasianov, Director of Higher School of Information Technologies and Informational Systems.

Professor Tayursky told that delegation had a meeting with representatives of the Faculty of Sciences of National Chiao Tung University (Taiwan) which was one of world leading universities in IT-education, as well as a center where were Taiwanese technological companies, such as Huawei.
