Russian Week in Giessen

13th of June 2012: Russian week in Giessen is held with the participation of the scientists from Kazan federal University

From the 11th to 15th of June Russian week takes place in the framework of the Russian-German year of education, science and innovations 2011/2012. The program includes such events as podium-discussions, lections and seminars, informational meetings and the scientific symposium “Cultural and economic diversity of Russia – chances and potential”.

The two-day symposium is based on the long-lasting partnership with the Kazan federal University and is devoted to the main directions of scientific and educational cooperation. KFU delegation consisting of 17 persons headed by the Vice-Rector for international relations Linar Latypov was invited for the participation in the events.

Symposium includes 2 sections: humanitarian – “Nations, languages and cultures of Russia” and the life sciences section – “Bioinspired technologies in economy, law, ecology and biomedicine”. At the humanitarian section the following common projects of scientists from Giessen and Kazan were presented:

At the center of attention of the life sciences section were biotechnologies from the economic, ecological, biomedicine and legal point of view. Following projects were elaborated:

In the course of symposium scientists from Kazan and Giessen are going to discuss the new areas of scientific and educational cooperation and work out the strategy of further cooperation.
