KFU sets up Language Center of Goethe Institute

May 29-30 - Kazan Federal University receives the visiting delegation of the German Cultural Centre.
The delegation included Head of Language Department, Deputy Director of the Cultural Center Christoph Feldhyuz; head of Regional language projects Maria Lukyanchikova and Regional Coordinator, Head of the Philology Department of the Volga Humanitarian Institute Svetlana Takhtarova.
The program began with a tour of the Museum of History of Kazan University, then the delegation met with the leaders of KFU. The University was represented by Vice Rector for administrative work Andrei Khashov, Vice Rector for External Relations Linar Latypov, Head of the External Relations Office Andrei Krylov, Director of the Institute of History Ramil Khairutdinov and his deputy for Science, Valery Letyaev.

Christoph Feldhyuz strongly supported the initiatives of KFU. As it turned out, the delegation has arrived with some pre-proposals for cooperation, namely, opening a Language Center of the Goethe-Institute on the basis of KFU.
The Language Center of the Goethe Institute will allow students and professors to develop their language competence and receive international language certificates at various levels, which in turn will contribute to a more active development of academic mobility and international relations. Currently existing language examinations at KFU are focused on the high level of proficiency which is not always necessary to obtain grants and organizing international exchanges.
In addition, the Language Center of Goethe-Institute, focusing on the broad community, will promote active development of the German language in schools in the country.
