KFU at Tatarstan Oil, Gas & Petrochemicals Forum

Today, September 3, Kazanskaya Yarmarka Exhibition Center is hosting the 21st Tatarstan Oil, Gas & Petrochemicals Forum.

The Forum was kicked off with the official opening ceremony attended by Rustam Minnikhanov, President of Tatarstan, Kirill Molodtsov, Deputy Minister of Energy of Russia and other officials.

Traditional Tatarstan Oil, Gas &Petrochemicals Forum (September 3-5, 2014) will gather 216 enterprises from 14 countries of the world and will offer a wide range of events, such as specialized exhibitions “Oil, Gas &Petrochemicals”, “Ecotechnology and Equipment of the 21st Century”, “Plastic & Rubber”, “Geo-Kazan: Exploration, Geodesy &Cartography”; science and research conferences, and round table meetings on perspectives of the Tatarstan petrochemicals expansion in capital and road construction

Kazan Federal University annually co-organizes “Current Issues of Geodesy and Geo-Information Systems” 3rd Science and Research Conference aimed to enable participants focus on key goals and perspectives of geodesy and cartography of Tatarstan, the use of geo-information systems by state and regional governments, and discuss other crucial problems . The University experts will speak on their recent innovations in geo-space technologies and their implementation in various sectors of Tatarstan economics.

Tomorrow, September 4, the agenda includes the field demonstration of new machines and technologies of Trimble (USA) that KFU signed a cooperation agreement with a year ago.  In particular, they will see the only one in Russia MX24 Mobile Scanner Trimble used to create 3D models of cities, and unique Trimble V10 Photogrammetrical Station. KFU will also show the 3D GEO Center Multifunctional Lab for Geological and Hydrodynamic Modeling and present the programme for advanced and additional training for geodesy services staff at the Centre of Additional Education, Quality Management and Marketing.

Over 120 experts of geodesy, exploration, mine surveying, and geo information system will take part in the Conference. On September 4, Engelgardt Astronomical Observatory will host one of the sections of the Conference where the participants will be demonstrated the unique facilities of the University Planetarium.
