Huaxia-Xiaoxia Summer Camp of KFU Confucius Institute successfully finished up its 4th edition

On 7 June 2014, having finished their 14-day trip to Huaxia-Xiaoxia organized by the KFU Confucius Institute, the participants of the camp came back home having seriously taken to China. It was the first time that pupils and students headed by Roman Penkovtsev, a professor of the KFU Institute of International Relations, History and Oriental Studies, went to China and got acquainted with the Chinese culture. Everybody was happy to attend all sorts of events in Beijing and Changsha. This camp edition differed from those of previous years as the participants were invited to Chinese families.

On June 4 twenty students from Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny and Yelabuga arrived to China, to their first destination - Beijing. With great interest the participants climbed the Great Wall of China, made a tour to the GuGong Palace, Grand View Garden and Tiananmen Square, observed the Bird's Nest and Water Cube, and other sights. On June 7 they came to Changsha, where the Hunan University prepared a significant educational program with a course of Chinese and Chinese culture. It is worth mentioning that all the classes were held as games that boosted students' interest toward the language, moreover, they had a great opportunity to master their Chinese.

On June 12, with the support of the Ministry of Education of Hunan Province, the participants visited Nanfan School and were welcomed by Chinese families; they spent two days with their new friends going sightseeing, tasting local cuisine, and communicating.

Over 100 students have already participated in the Huaxia-Xiaoxia Summer Camp within 4 years. The Camp is a kind of a bridge between Russia and China, Tatarstan and Hunan Province, a symbol of cultural dialogue between two countries.
