Kazan Federal University in Development of Russian-Turkish Relations

Attaché of the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in the Russian Federation Cihat Yayci visited KFU on June, 17. He was accompanied with the General Consul of the Republic of Turkey in Kazan Sabri Tunç Angılı.

Cihat Yayci had an opportunity to visit the Museum of History and talk to students of the Institute of International Relations, History and Oriental Studies who study the Turkish language.

During the meeting with students and teachers Cihat Yayci emphasized special contribution of the Republic of Tatarstan and, in particular, Kazan University to the development of Russian-Turkish relations. In his opinion, Tatar and Turkish cultures have many common features that make easier the development of cooperation. Kazan University is a talent foundry. Therefore, students have many chances to become experts in translation studies and international relations.  

Cihat Yayci admitted that the visit to the Republic of Tatarstan and one of its main educational centers was his dream. Tatars were among his ancestors in paternal line.

The parties exchanged presents: Deputy Director of the Institute of International Relations, History and Oriental Studies Valery Letyaev presented two books Tatarstan Cultural Heritage in English; Cihat Yayci presented the coat of arms of the Turkish navy.
