Socialization Problems Discussed at KFU

On April, 23 was opened an International research and practical conference Modern primary school: Socialization problems in KFU.

The conference was organized by the Institute of Psychology and Education.

Dean of the Faculty of Pedagogy from Balykesir University, Bulent Ozdemir participated in the plenary meeting. He told about his vision of the teacher in the 21st century.

He informed about the results of opinion surveys held in Turkey, according to which 6,000 of respondents expressed their views on the teacher image. Results are the following: 50% of respondents think that the teacher should be able to put himself in student`s place, the other 50% think that the teacher should provoke interest by his subject, teach how to think, explain how to use a computer, help in solving various problems and accept critics.  The teacher shouldn`t be a narrow-spirited prisoner of state policy stereotypes showing his problems to students.

Representative of the University of Balykesir, Ayshe Buyukyıldırım , reported about the conditions of student socialization. She paid attention not to the theoretical aspect, but told about how students spend their time in the university: arrange cultural events, hold literature contests, poetry readings, release a wall newspaper together with pupils and set up relations with their future pupils.

In the framework of the plenary meeting the floor was given to the Head of Department of Pedagogy and primary education methodology Venera Zakirova. She acquainted with information on junior pupil socialization, in particular, adaptation problems in educational institutions.

The conference will last for three days, during this time participants will report on section meetings in schools and will participate in workshops. As a result there will be approved a resolution.
