At the expert meeting of the Program for Competitive Growth, Ilshat Gafurov was awarded the Medal of the International Assembly of Capitals and Cities "For contribution to the development of inter-city cooperation".
The ceremony was attended by Deputy Director General of the International Assembly of Capitals and Cities Igor Bolshakov, Vice Rector of the Eurasian Open Institute Valery Bochkov, and executive director of the Union of Young Scientists and Specialists of Eurasia Dmitry Shkaev.
"This medal commemorates Ilshat Gafurov’s activities not only in capacity of Elabuga mayor, but also in the sphere of training young specialists and researchers for the needs of our country," remarked Igor Bolshakov.
The guests shared their impressions after visiting the Universiade Village, expressing admiration for the accommodation facilities of students of Kazan Federal University. They also invited students and scholars of KFU to participate in the International Youth Science Forum "Young Science" which is to be held in Uglich.
