New IT-Opportunities for Lyceum Students

Today, on the 12th of March, a ceremonial opening of a classroom was held in IT Lyceum of KFU in the framework of the project “Samsung IT School”.

The purpose of the social and educational project “Samsung IT School” is to train future engineers and technicians. It should be specially emphasized that this initiative was supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of the RT, and the IT Lyceum of KFU became the first educational institution to implement this project.

Director General of Samsung Electronics Research Centre, Mr. Youngmin Lee, Deputy Prime-Minister of the RT, Minister of Education and Science of the RT, Mr. Engel Fattakhov, KFU Rector, Mr. Ilshat Gafurov, as well as Vice-Rectors and Directors of Institutes of our University took part in this event.

Mr. Ilshat Gafurov reminded all the attendees about the role of Samsung Electronics in educational process of our University. A bit more than a year ago Samsung Android Lab was opened at Higher School of Information Technologies and Information Systems of KFU, and in the previous year a classroom analogous to Samsung auditorium appeared in IT Lyceum. Thus students, Master’s Degree students study, and public and municipal officers get retraining at Higher School of ITIS today.

Mr. Youngmin Lee addressed himself to students, as well. Mr. Engel Fattakhov mentioned importance of the implemented project for Tatarstan. Then all the participants were invited for a demonstration lesson, during which an IT Lyceum teacher of informatics demonstrated all opportunities of the new classroom. Lyceum students expressed their impressions too.

At the end representatives of Samsung Electronics were demonstrated developments of lyceum students, which can be of use even now. Mr. Youngmin Lee was very impressed by inventions made by students. Now we’ll tell you about some of them.

Thus Mr. German Ibragimov developed a drug intake reminder, Mr. Artyom Iskhakov developed an application with the help of which one can find and buy any commodity (electrical equipment, clothes) at a discount. Lyceum students Omar Zeynalov, Bulat Latypov, Emil Islamov developed a whole system called Smart Street, which permits to adjust roadway lighting.
