Professor from the University of Bahrain, Mr. Muhammad Abdulkarim Alzikri, visits Kazan University.

On February, 14 was held a meeting with Professor from the University of Bahrain, Mr. Muhammad Abdulkarim Alzikri, at the Institute of International Relations, History and Oriental Studies. Professor Muhammad studies intercultural communication and covers the issues of preserving cultural heritage in mass media.

His visit became possible due to invitation of State Counselor to the Republic of Tatarstan, Chairman of Board of Trustees of the Republic Foundation for Renaissance of Cultural Monuments of RT, Mr. Mintimer Shaimiev.      

The meeting was attended by the Chief Counselor to the State Protocol Office of the President of RT S. Khabibullina, Deputy Director for Research of the Institute of International Relations, History and Oriental Studies  V. Letyaev, Director of Confucius Institute G. Zainullin, Head of Division of Translation Studies and World Cultural Heritage D. Sabirova.

Within visit it is planned to conduct a seminar for students who study Arabic language, organize a meeting with trainees from the Centre of Arabic Culture “Al –Khadara”. The students will also be able to attend a series of seminars Intercultural communication: difficulties, ways of preventing cross-cultural conflicts.

It is expected that Professor Muhammad Abdulkarim Alzikri will participate in the opening of the 1st Republic Linguistic Forum “Uniting languages and cultures” organized by the Division of Translation Studies and World cultural heritage.
