Today, on the 12th of February, problems of preparation for the World Youth Forum of Russian Compatriots “Youth, Science, Innovations – 2014” were discussed in KFU.

The Vice-Rector of KFU for International Relations, Mr. Linar Latypov, the head of the Department for Work with Compatriots Abroad of the RF Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Vladimir Volkov, the head of the International Cooperation Office of the International Relations Department under the President of the RT, Mr. Ildar Nasyrov, the head of the Department for Work with Children’s and Youth Organisations of the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Sport and Tourism of the RT, Mr. Vladislav Usanov, as well as project contractors, representatives of Labirint, LLC took part in the meeting.

Recall that at the sitting of the Coordination Council for Compatriot Affairs under the President of Tatarstan held on November 26, 2013 the Minister of Youth Affairs, Sport and Tourism of the RT, Mr. Rafis Burganov, reported that the International Student Forum “Youth, Science, Innovations” would be organized in Kazan in 2014. Over a hundred of our compatriots living abroad will come to the capital of our Republic to take part in this Forum. This event is scheduled for April, 2014, and Kazan has already started preparing for it.

Today representatives of the RF Ministry of Foreign Affairs came to the capital of our Republic to get acquainted with a Forum Participant Reception Plan. The Vice-Rector, Mr. Linar Latypov, presented the Activities Program for the Forum participants in Kazan University. KFU will organise excursions in research laboratories, historical buildings and University museums. A delegation’s visit to the Universiade Village is also included in the program.

After the meeting the guests were more closely acquainted with our University: an excursion in the Museum of History of Kazan University was organised for them.

According to the project manager, a representative of Labirint, LLC, Ms. Irina Maslova, Kazan is an ideal place for the Forum. “It is a very beautiful city with rich history and centuries-old traditions. Kazan University is one of the oldest Russian universities. Forum participants will find it interesting to visit the place where Lobachevskiy, Tolstoy, Lenin and other great personalities studied. At the same time, Tatarstan devotes close attention to scientific researches and technological developments. The topics of the Forum are science and innovations, and it’s logical that a youth delegation will be familiarized with experience of Tatarstan scientists and activities carried out by leading scientific research laboratories of KFU,” resumed Ms. Irina Maslova.
