Today Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Chairman of State Council Farid Mukhametshin took part in presentation of awards of the annual student contest “Student of the year” at Volga Academy of Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism.
Speaking at the ceremony, Rustam Minnikhanov said that presentation of awards became a bright event that gives a lot of cheerful emotions. Tatarstan President noted that one of the Republic’s advantages is its educational potential, and Tatarstan higher educational institutions are excellent educational centers.
The winner of the contest in The Best University category was announced by Chairman of State Council Farid Mukhametshin. This award went to Kazan Federal University and was given to its Rector Ilshat Gafurov. We are proud to be students and employees of the best Tatarstan University!
Linar Zakirov, a 4-year student of the KFU Institute of Mass Communication and Social Sciences won in the category Journalist of the Year.

Alina Khangareeva, a 3-year student, reached the final and received a special prize in the Journalist of the Year category.
Chairman of State Council mentioned that the energy in the hall made him feel proud of the youth. He is sure that Tatarstan has wonderful future.
We also compliment Rustam Musin, a post-graduate student of the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy, on receiving a Special prize in “Foreign Student of the Year” category for his contribution to development of social activities among international students.
