European Integration Summer School, University of Agder, Kristiansand (Norway), June 24 to August 4, 2014

The University of Agder (UiA) in Kristiansand calls for applications to its 25th annual European Integration Summer School (EISS).

EISS is method-driven and consists of two stand-alone courses at Master level:

Course I: History, Institutions and Policies of European Integration (June 24—July 11)
> Methods in European Studies I: Process Tracing
> The Path Toward European Union
> The Political System of the European Union
> Policy-Making and Policies in the European Union

Course II: The European Union in the World (July 15—August 4)
> Methods in European Studies II: Research Design and Europeanization
> Europeanization in EU Foreign Policy
> Institutionalizing the European External Action Service (EEAS)
> Differentiated Integration and the Future of Europe

EISS brings together a unique blend of international and domestic students, faculty and practitioners. The 2014 EISS guest faculty includes, amongst others, Cristina Barrios (EUISS), Jozef Bátora (Comenius University, Bratislava), Maurizio Carbone (University of Glasgow), Jeffrey T. Checkel (Simon Fraser University, Vancouver), Dermot Hodson (University of London), Dirk Leuffen (University of Konstanz), John Peterson (University of Edinburgh), Karolina Pomorska (University of Cambridge), Claudio Radaelli (University of Exeter), Michael Shackleton (University of Maastricht) and Michael H. Smith (Loughborough University).

Each course carries 10 ECTS
