Professor, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation and Republic of Tatarstan, corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan Republic, Midkhat Farukshin published a new book – Ethnicity and Federalism.

This is one of the results of deep research work conducted for over 20 years in the area of federations and federalism. This research was recognized in the Russian politological community. At the same time monograph doesn`t appear to be a continuation of the book published in 2005 Face and Mask (notes on political leadership in Tatarstan, 1989 - 2005). It is more likely that Midkhat Farukshin with the help of his book manages to close a gap in the theory and practice of federalism that concerns the role of ethnic factor in federative systems.
