Russian Government approved roadmap developed by the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media. This roadmap is aimed at the development of IT industry and increase the number of IT specialists two times up to 2018.

This plan includes activities to conduct a complex of research works aimed at creation of Russian technologies for calculation in cloud and supercomputer environment and technologies for development of Russian supercomputers, as well as application of infrastructure and software capabilities of the innovative centre Skolkovo.

According to the government this plan implementation will support the average growth rate of the IT industry at a level significantly higher than the average growth rate of gross domestic product (at least three times during the whole period) and double the number of jobs of high-tech industry (over 600,000 jobs).

Moreover, it is expected to increase the manufacture of Russian IT products from 270 billion of rubles to 450 billion of rubles, contribute to reducing the economy's reliance on commodity exports (by doubling exports of goods and services by 2018) and improve productivity of the Russian economy by accelerating the introduction of information technologies in other sectors of economy.
