KFU scholars` article is devoted to dangerous pandemic influenza virus A (H1N1)

The first article by KFU scholars was published on a web-site of Acta Naturae journal, it is devoted to dangerous pandemic influenza virus. It was prepared in co-authorship of junior researcher Shakh Makhmud Raikhan and Professor, Head of the department of Microbiology Olga Iliinskaya.

This article was published in two languages: Russian and English.

Acta Naturae is a new international journal about Life Sciences where are published research works and discoveries in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biomedicine and Biotechnologies.

Fight with pandemic influenza viruses A/H1N1 appears to be one of crucial problems of modern science in connection with big loses in social and economic sphere that are caused by influenza. Rapid virus propagation can be restrained by application of those medicines that are of broad specificity and their effectiveness doesn`t depend on concrete virus mutation.

The scholars proved that secretable ribonuclease B. intermedius (bynase) is not toxic for human epithelial cells in the concentration range that displays anti-virus activity. Initial treatment of virus particles with bynase in the concentration of 1 mcg/ml caused a considerable decrease of virus infectivity (up to 10 times) and suppressed evolvement of virus-challenged cytopathic action in cell line A549 of a facile handler under the different plurality of infections of single-cycle and multi-cycle virus reproduction.
