Issues of Turkic studies

April 18 - Institute of Philology and Arts of Kazan Federal University welcomed Director of the Institute of Social Knowledge at Ege University (Turkey), turkologist, Mustafa Oner.
Before the workshop, Mustafa Oner met with the Director of the Institute of Philology and Arts Radif Zamaletdinov. They discussed issues of further cooperation between our Universities in areas of research and development of Turkic languages.
Mustafa Oner has been sharing his experience with Russian turkologists since the 90s. He has written many works on the Study of the Tatar language and translated many publications from Tatar literature into Turkish.
During the seminar, which was held in the format of a dialogue, one could ask questions and make comments. Mustafa Oner addressed the issue of language extinction. According to him, it is a threat faced by most languages. Turkic languages have ancient roots and are of particular interest in preserving the spiritual and cultural identity of many peoples.
