Federal Universities Determined Fields of Cooperation

A meeting of federal universities’ representatives devoted to projects of their networking cooperation in scientific field was held today, on the 23rd of October.

Recall that task groups for networking cooperation organising between Russian federal universities in various fields were formed in accordance with an agreement between these universities, signed in KFU this July.

Vice-rectors, heads of departments, heads of scientific research departments and research work boards of the Northern (Arctic), Baltic, Ural, Far Eastern Federal Universities were among the meeting participants. Kazan University was represented by directors of institutes of natural sciences.

Exercising his rights as a host, Mr. Danis Nurgaliev, the Vice-Rector of KFU for Research, was the first to deliver a speech. He made a presentation, which reflected high-priority scientific fields developed in the University, and offered to develop networking cooperation not only in the framework of joint scientific research projects, but also during students’ research activity organising.

The Vice-Rector of Northern (Arctic) Federal University for Research, Mr. Konstantin Bogolitsyn, presented Russian Arctic zone development strategy and offered to elaborate a road map project for networking cooperation in individual high-priority fields. The N(A)FU representative offered to discuss the first intermediate totals and further plans in the middle of November.

IT, materials science and nanotechnologies were named by the Chairman of Scientific Research Work Board of BFU, Mr. Ilya Samusev, among research fields actively developed in Baltic Federal University.

Living systems, power engineering, flexible technologies and materials, infocommunication technologies and the human in information society were the growth points determined for itself by Ural Federal University.

A round table, during which specialists will discuss a path forward plan, will be held tomorrow, on the 24th of October.
