October 16 – Institute of international relations, history and oriental studies at KFU held the International workshop Russia – China: history and culture. 

During the three days Russian and Chinese scholars will discuss questions of philosophy, aspects of teaching Chinese as well as the history and prospects of Russian-Chinese relations.

The main challenges facing the Institute of international relations, history and Oriental Studies were identified by its director Ramil Khairutdinov. In particular, he said, introduction of a Department of Chinese studies and sinology is planned for the year 2015. "This will require effort, not only from us but from our partners," he said. The director also noted high interest to the Chinese language among prospective students and freshmen.
