Today, on the 24th of September, the II All-Russian Scientific Conference “Environment and Sustainable Development of Regions” (with international participation) opened in Kazan Federal University.
This time the conference is devoted to the Environment Protection Year in Russia and the 150th anniversary of the founder of the biosphere doctrine, V. I. Vernadskiy. The organisers’ aim is comprehensive analysis of current state of environment with a view to ensure sustainable development of regions and exchange of experience in new methods and technologies application for study of various natural environment components, as well as to elaborate proposals on its preservation, forecast environment development dynamics for the next decades.
Topicality of the spectrum of raised issues aroused a great interest with scientists. People from all quarters of Russia arrived at the conference along with participants from Germany, Israel, Tadzhikistan, Uzbekistan.
At the plenary session the participants were welcomed by the conference organisers: the Director of the Institute of Ecology and Geography, Ms. Svetlana Selivanovskaya, Vice-Rector of KFU for Research, Mr. Danis Nurgaliev, head of the Information and Analytical Activity Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the RT, Mr. Vladislav Yuranets, and the Director of the Institute of Ecology and Subsurface Resources Management of the Academy of Science of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mr. Rifkat Shagidullin. All of them wished the participants fruitful and effective work. Mr. Vladislav Yuranets noted that a gap was observed at that time between the ecological science and scientists’ developments application in practice. He expressed hope that the conference would facilitate science integration into management process.
Conference will be held till the 26th of September. One of its main tasks is to coordinate efforts and developments in the sphere of environment state study, optimize relations between the society and environment. In the framework of four sections scientists will discuss problems in the field of theory and methods of environment study and protection, speak about ecological fundamentals of nature management, dynamics of interaction between natural, socioeconomic, geographical systems, as well as about tourist industry and ecological and geographical education.
