Guests from Austria in the Institute of Philology and Arts

There was a meeting with guests from Austria – Bernard Kell and Johan Hopfer (University of Innsbruck, Russian Centre) – arranged at the Department of Russian and Foreign Philology of the Institute of Philology and Arts of KFU. The Austrian colleagues took part in the academic exchange program and came to Kazan to get acquainted with culture, traditions of Kazan citizens, as well as to improve their knowledge of the Russian language. Mr. Kell made a fascinating report about Austria. A bright presentation contained both general information about Austria and data on cultural and national peculiarities of Austrians’ life, their traditions, places of interest in Austria, sporting competitions, theatre, educational system and many other things.

The fourth- and fifth-year students studying the German language and teachers of the Department of Germanic Philology were invited to the meeting.

The audience listened to our guests with great interest and asked them questions on absolutely different topics. The discussion turned out to be interesting. A friendly and cordial atmosphere helped to open such a marvelous German-speaking country as Austria once again.
