Maria Shekereva, a 3-year student of KFU Institute of Physical Education, Sport and Restorative Medicine won the Universiade-2013 bronze medal in judo (the weight category over 78 kg). She declared her victory to be devoted to Elena Ivaschenko, a four-time European champion in super heavy weight who tragically died on June, 15.

Maria Shekerova lost to Idalys Ortiz Bocourt, the Olympic champion from Cuba in semifinals.

The nearest plan of our athlete is to participate in World Championship in Brazil in August and win the medal.
