Universiade Torch Relay comes to Tatarstan

Universiade Torch Relay route is approaching Kazan – on June 20 it comes to municipal districts of the Republic.

For the first time in the history of Student Games, the Torch travelled on the sea with the crew of Russian sailing vessel Sedov. On January 25 – Russian Student Day - the Torch arrived to Russia and began its route from East to West covering over 30 large academic centers. On July 6 the Torch Relay Route will come to Kazan to make official opening of the 27th Universiade.

In Elabuga the Relay will start today in front of Elabuga branch of KFU and will travel around the streets of the town.

Interesting facts – Torch Relay takes place on five continents, 51 cities, it involves 1,5 million students, the total length of the route is 104 kilometers in 359 days, and 2013 people carry the Torch along the way.
