Kazan University fetes excellent graduates 2013

Today, on June 18, 2013, Kazan Federal University is feting the best of the best – that is, excellent graduates 2013. The Rector of KFU, Mr. Ilshat Gafurov, addressed former students with words of encouragement. “The time that has come is always awaited, but always comes unexpectedly. You are graduates! Today, in this hall, we can see the “golden fund” of KFU, and they are not simply excellent students, but also those who worked to the glory of alma mater with all their diligence. Your year is also special, because when you were entering the University Kazan won the right to receive World Student Games, so, as early as in 18 days our city and our Republic will host Universiade. I would like to wish you to succeed in self-actualization and be able to apply knowledge got here, so that we might be proud of you. I hope that many of you will continue your education. I wish you health, success and luck!”

Graduates of institutes, departments and branches of KFU got diplomas with honours directly from the hands of the head of the University. The Faculty of Law, Institute of Philology and Arts, Institute of Economics and Finance traditionally became leaders by the quantity of “Red Diplomas”.

Probably, many of you will remember the most elderly graduate – 86-year-old Gabdulla Galiyev. He graduated from the Faculty of Tatar and Comparative Philology of Elabuga branch with “excellent” marks. “Many people asked me what for I was studying. It’s not a diploma that is important for me, but knowledge that I have acquired here,” he said.

Video clips were presented to heroes of the fete, first-year students addressed them, and today’s graduates gave a promise to become a pride of the University.
