Extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Turkmenistan in the RF visited KFU

Today, on June 17, 2013, a delegation of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation headed by ambassador extraodinary and plenipotentiary, Mr. Berdymurad Redzhepov, visited Kazan Federal University. The guests had an excursion in the Museum of History and met with the University authorities.

The Rector, Mr. Ilshat Gafurov, familiarized the Ambassador with the present-day Kazan University and gave detailed information concerning achievements in science, innovation projects, international partners and the University infrastructure. Participants of the meeting touched upon co-operation problems. The Rector invited higher education institutions of Turkmenistan to collaboration and schoolchildren – to enter KFU. “We are ready to develop special programs for them and adapt such programs to specialties which are difficult to study from the very beginning”, – underlined Mr. Gafurov.

Reference information: in the academic year 2012/13 121 Turkmenistan citizens studied in KFU (47 Bachelors, 54 specialists, 1 post-graduate student, 16 students of pre-university courses, 3 attendees of probation and refresher training programs). The overwhelming majority of these students (101 students) study on a contractual basis paying a tuition fee, 20 students are admitted by the assignment of the Ministry of Education and Science of the RF at the expense of the federal budget, in compliance with the RF Government Resolution No. 638 of August 25, 2008.

Mr. Berdymurad Redzhepov was impressed by everything he saw and heard within the walls of Kazan Federal University. “I shall surely come here again to make a separate visit to the University”, – emphasized the Ambassador. He also advised that he intended to facilitate development of cooperation between KFU and Turkmenistan.
