Delegation of Chinese Embassy in Russia At The Institute of Oriental Studies and International Relations

On April, 23 representatives of the Embassy of China in the Russian Federation visited the Institute of Oriental Studies and International Relations. The First Counselor for Education Li Hai and the Second Counselor for Education Feng Xiangru met with the Director of the Institute, Vice-Rector for External Relations, Mr. Linar Latypov.

They discussed questions concerning cooperation of Kazan University with universities of China, development of Chinese Studies at the University and spoke about students who came to Russia from China.

Guests were surprised by the list of KFU partner-universities in China, however, they noticed that there are still more common points for building relations. Mr. Li Hai spoke about the need to increase the number of Chinese students in our university. Mr. Linar Latypov fully supported this idea. According to him, students who come from China are well trained, and it is easy to work with them.

The director presented his vision for the development of Chinese Studies at the Institute of Oriental Studies and International Relations. The first step, is to open a separate department (currently training of the Chinese language is carried out in the framework of the Department of Philology and Cultures of Countries of the Far East), where in addition to the Chinese language and culture will be taught Economy, History and Politics of this country.

The meeting was in an atmosphere of mutual understanding, the parties have found a lot of interesting.
