Visit of the Vice-Rector for International Relations, Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies and International Relations, Mr. L.N.Latypov, to Moscow

From April 10 to April 12, 2013 Vice-Rector for International Relations of KFU, Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies and International Relations of KFU, Mr. L. N. Latypov, had a working visit to Moscow.

During his visit the Vice-Rector had several business meetings with top authorities of Institutes of the Russian Academy of Science (RAC), leading educational institutions of Russia, as well as with representatives of diplomatic corps of foreign states. Thus, he had meetings with the Director of the Institute of Latin American Studies of the RAS, academician Davydov Vladimir Mikhaylovich, Director of the Institute of European Studies of the RAS, academician Shmelyov Nikolay Petrovich, Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies, corresponding member of the RAS, Mr. Naumkin Vitaliy Vyacheslavovich, Director of the Institute of Asian and African Countries of the Moscow State University, Abylgaziyev Igor Ishenaliyevich, Deputy Director of the Institute of the USA and Canada Studies of the RAS, Mr. Supyan Victor Borisovich, Vice-Rector for International Activities of the Academy of Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Mr. Lukin Aleksandr Vladimirovich, as well as with the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait in the RF, Mr. Naser Al-Muzayan, counselor-minister of the diplomatic mission of the Embassy of Indonesia in the RF, Mr. Munir Sunanda, and the top authorities of the Attache office for culture of the Embassy of Korea.

Reached at the meetings were the agreements about assistance and support offering to Moscow colleagues in creation and formation of new branches in the structure of the Institute of Oriental Studies and International Relations – that is, a Department of European and American Studies, as well as about KFU library funds stocking with the required material and the corresponding lecture courses offering. In his turn, Linar Nailyevich expressed readiness to invite professors for giving lectures in the framework of the KFU Development Program.

In the Embassy of the State of Kuwait in the RF the parties have come to an agreement that the Ambassador, who is also the Chairman for the Persian Gulf States under the League of Arab States, will become a member of the Board of Trustees of the Institute of Oriental Studies and International Relations of KFU. The Ambassador added that he will render assistance in Arabic Studies development in the Institute.

In the Embassy of Indonesia in the RF the parties discussed an opportunity of an ASEAN Centre opening on the basis of the Institute of Oriental Studies and International Relations, as well as strengthening of ties with large universities of Asian-Pacific region.
