The I World Economic Forum on the Topic 'Strategic Dialogue on the Future of South Caucasus and Central Asia' (Davos Forum)

The I World Economic Forum devoted to the topic “Strategic Dialogue on the future of South Caucasus and Central Asia” (Davos Forum) was held at the beginning of April, 2013 in Baku (Azerbaijan). A regional meeting of the Global Shapers Community of the World Economic Forum was also arranged during this forum. This community unites young leaders aged 20 to 30 from all over the world, who are leaders in various spheres of activity. There are 215 clubs – Global Shapers Community hubs – opened all over the world. They implement projects at a local level, with these projects being meant for social climate improvement in the society.

Just recently a hub of the Global Shapers Community has been opened in Kazan, and Dilbar Sadykova has been appointed its supervisor.

The World Economic Forum also gives young leaders an opportunity to take part in the Forum meetings with a view to share experience with them as young generation and attract them to global problem solving. According to the results of selection made in 2013 in Baku, 30 Global Shapers Community representatives participated in the World Economic Forum session on the future of South Caucasus and Central Asia. 2 representatives of Kazan Federal University (Dilbar Sadykova and Engel Sayfutdinov) were among the 30 members of the Global Shapers Community.

The young leaders took part in a series of meetings and sessions, in which representatives of governmental circles participated, as well, including: Prime-Minister of Albania, Ms. Sali Berisha, Minister of Sport and Youth of Azerbaijan, Mr. Azad Ragimov, Director of the Russian branch of Geydar Aliyev Foundation , Leyla Aliyeva and others.

Furthermore, the Exe­cutive Director of the World Economic Forum, Claus Schwab, met with 4 representatives of the Global Shapers Community, working with youth and students: Aleksey Potyomkin (Moscow, Russia), Dilbar Sadykova (Kazan, Russia), Zinaida Kan (Astana, Kazakhstan), Irina Puidze (Tbilisi, Georgia).
