Professor Varfolomeev eliminates all differences between Russian and German laboratories

Mikhail Varfolomeev, Associate Professor from the Alexander Butlerov Institute of Chemistry, visited German Universities.

During his visit he delivered lectures about his own scientific outcomes, developments and research work which is being conducted in Kazan University. Moreover, he told about results of joint research with German colleagues.

He visited several laboratories of Rostock University where he could conduct research connected with material thermodynamics. He noticed that there was no big difference between our laboratories and German. In addition, he could visit laboratories where take place student practical classes.

Mr. Varfolomeev told that contacts with Germany in the sphere of research would be strengthened and joint articles in leading foreign journals would be published. Further, visits from German side are expected as we negotiate on opportunity to train joint post-graduate students in physical chemistry.

Mikhail Varfolomeev drew a parallel between Russian and German universities. German universities have system similar to system of federal universities, but they are called “Universities of Excellence”. German universities also try to bind industrial production with science and face the same problems as we do. But they do not have problem with receiving chemical substances and reagents, they get them in one week.

In Poland Mr. Varfolomeev took part in 42th international conference in wave and quantum acoustics and calorimetric and relaxation methods. Experts from Germany, France and other counties participated there. Mr. Varfolomeev delivered a report on this conference. Within this event he agreed to conduct joint research and organize lectures in Kazan University and University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland.
