Representatives of Turkish Parliament at KFU

On April, 2 delegation of Türkiye Büyük Millet Meclisi (TBMM) visited KFU. Parliament Vice-Speaker, Deputy from Istanbul province Meral Akşener, Head of Parliament Administration and Deputy from Sivas province Malik Ecder Ӧzdemir, Deputy from Burdur province Hasan Hami Yıldırım visited our University.

For information. Meral Akşener is a Turkish politician. Born on 1956 in Izmit province. Her political carrier started in 1995 when she was elected as a deputy from “National action” party in Istanbul province. Mrs Akşener served as the Minister of internal affairs from November, 8 to June, 30, 1997. Since August, 10 up to the moment she serves as the Vice-Speaker of  Türkiye Büyük Millet Meclisi (TBMM).

Guests visited History Museum of Kazan University, famous Lenin`s lecture room and Assembly Hall. After this they were invited to KFU Institute of Oriental Studies and International Relations, where they were surprised by the newly opened Centre of Turkic culture.

Meeting of TMBB representatives with KFU students who study Turkish was very fruitful. During this meeting students could ask any questions. Deputy Chairman of State Council of Tatarstan Rimma Ratnikova and Consul General of Turkish Republic in Tatarstan Sabri Tunch Angili participated in the meeting.

According to Linar Latypov, Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies and International Relations, our “Eastern Institute” attracts Turkish guests as scientific-and educational establishment which is engaged into the complex study of Turkic world, including Turkey. For Parliament representatives it is very important that the Center of Turkish studies being joint project of Kazan University and Yunus Emre University (Ankara, Turkey) successfully works. Besides, Turkish Republic is interested in Kazan because our city was announced as the capital of Turkic world for 2014.

Institute of Oriental Studies and International Relations Administration and guests agreed that the Turkish side will assist leading scientists to come to KFU in order to deliver lectures on complex study of Turkey.

Parliament representatives will also visit exhibition of Turkish culture that was organized jointly by Tatarstan Republic and Dolmabahçe, take part in scientific-and-practical conference on Turkish culture that is held on April, 3 in the Institute of Oriental Studies and International Relations.
