KFU will train medical staff

This news was reported today, on March 18, 2013, by the Rector of KFU, Mr. Ilshat Gafurov, during the University administration sitting. The Institute of Fundamental Medicine and Biology has got the respective license.

“This news is a symbol of return to alma mater of the field of scientific medicine, which was developing in Kazan University before the thirties of the XX century”, – noted Mr. Ilshat Gafurov. (Very soon you will have an opportunity to read in more detail how training in medicine will be organized in KFU.)

After that the Vice-Rector for Economic and Strategic Development, Mr. Marat Safiullin, presented a report about implementation of KFU development program in 2012. Although the program implementation estimate was positive on the whole, the Rector expressed his concern about the fact that some Institutes hadn’t timely amended procurement plan, which resulted in underspending of the funds assigned.

Mr. Marat Safiullin familiarized the sitting attendees with Kazan Federal University’s proposals on a regional engineering centre creation in the RT and shared his ideas of how KFU’s experience can be useful for Kama innovation territorial-and-production cluster, and asked the heads of KFU departments to make their offers concerning participation in these projects.

Then the Rector’s counsellor – the Director of the public information centre, Mr. Yuriy Alayev, presented an analysis of KFU portal. According to Mr. Alayev, within the last months the resource visibility for search systems almost doubled, the quantity of site visits and unique guests considerably increased. The latter fact has become the direct consequence of efforts to replenish the portal content both in Russian and English and increase the quantity of scientific publications. At the same time the problems of internal and external optimization of the portal remain unsolved. In this connection it is planned to hold a working session on promotion of KFU portal, involving specialists from the Department of Informatisation and Communication, Institute of Computer Mathematics and Information Technologies, Higher School of Information Technologies and Information Systems of KFU.
