Anastasiya Kulikova (the Department of Physics and Mathematics) and Anna Philimonova (the Department of Physical Education) brought gold medals from Kemerovo. The Russian Powerlifting (Bench Press) Cup was being held from March 08 to March 10, 2013 there. The students of Elabuga Branch Institute of KFU were the members of the team of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Competitions were held in three age groups: among men and women, juniors and junior-girls, young men and girls. 212 sportsmen from 38 constituent units of Russia took part in the competitions.

By the way, these were elimination competitions: so, our students became members of Russian national team and will participate in the World Championship, which will be held in Lithuania at the end of May.

On March 01 – March 03, 2013 the Russian Weight Bench Press Cup among juniors was held in Vladimir. And again our students became Tatarstan team members: Anna Filimonova (the Department of Physical Education) won the gold medal in the weight category below 52 kg, while Yekaterina Shvetsova (the Institute of Engineering Technologies) won the second place in the weight category below 43 kg.

It was thanks to gold and silver medals won by the students of Elabuga Branch Institute of KFU that Tatarstan team occupied the I place in the Russian Weight Bench Press Cup (team competition among juniors).

One more student of Elabuga Branch Institute of KFU showed good results on the sports arena: Tanzilya Galiyeva (the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology) won the I place at the Tatarstan Belt Wrestling Cup among juniors. These competitions were held from March 08 to March 10, 2013 in Kazan.
